Dark Songs with Katie

Live at Little Andromeda

Written, produced and performed in 2021. Released online in 2024.

Dark Songs with Katie is a playful one woman show about complex humanity. It is a narrative show that integrates story, softness, neuroscience, songs, and of course, cake. You might enjoy it if you like that sort of thing, but also if your nervous system is really in need of good company.*

Dark Songs with Katie sold out its 2021 run at Little Andromeda and one reviewer said “I urge you to go to this show, see it with someone you love,” while one attendee called it “the best show I have ever seen at Little Andromeda”.

* Trigger warning: this show includes discussion of trauma, sexual assault, grief and suicide. You take care of yourself however you need, but also know that if those subjects are vulnerable for you, then this show is especially for you.

Mental health professionals and educators - please contact me to discuss your needs and to purchase a licence to share the show with your clients and students.

Watch now: Watch the show by casting or streaming it from Vimeo. (Ideally watch on/cast to a decent screen - it’ll feel way more like a show.)

Pay your tickets: You can pay your ticket fees before or after via Paypal.

Get the music: You can buy the show’s music from Bandcamp.

On tickets and pricing: I use a good faith sustainability model for payment for this show. Everyone is able to watch the video without paying, but I do invite ticket payment via Paypal, according to people’s means or what they feel is appropriate. Under this model, people with higher means subsidise tickets/gifts for those who can’t pay, or who pay at the concession level.

To balance accessibility for the audience against sustainability for me and my work, I suggest the following as a guide:

Concession: $10

Standard: $20

Subsidising: $40

Thank you for supporting my creative work.
